There was a time when most kid's furniture was made of solid wood and built to last for years. Today, the quality of kid's furniture isn’t as good. Instead of real wood, some furniture makers use constructed wood (a.k.a. particle board) — a compressed mixture of wood particles and glue.

In addition to being heavier than most natural woods, particle board starts to fall apart when it gets wet (Just what you want in a kid’s room, right?). In addition, poor-quality shelves sag under the weight of objects and can eventually break.

In our furniture, you’ll find only solid wood that ages beautifully, is sturdily built for the excitement of kid play, and contains no particle board that warps, cheap plastic that cracks, or thin metal that pits and bends.
